Excalibur Class (for A2 or FleetOps) - File Description  


Description:
This mod includes the Excalibur class Starship, however, it also includes a nice surprise. The surprise is that it will work for both stock Armada 2, and Fleet Operations 3.1.5! The stock version contains a standard set of buildbutton, wireframe and admiral's log pic, however the FO version contains a custom set of nacelle glows, build button, wireframe, system background, admiral's log pic, all 6 ranks including the veteran rank with upgrading weapons and passives, fully accurate tooltips, fighter support, multi-targeting phasers and more!

Readme File:
Introduction: Hello, and thank you for downloading! This modification will add the Excalibur Class Dreadnought to either Fleet Operations 3.1.5, or a stock install of Star Trek Armada 2. Though you may install it in either, its texture scheme is intended to match those in FO(Fleet Operations), and may not look right in your stock install. Differences include exclusion of engine glows, a standard odf, and standard Sprite refrences. I highly recomend you try FO however the beauty of this mod is that allows you to choose which you want to use.

You may require some modding knowledge to get this to work, however there are many reasources available to help, becides this readme. A few I recomend are:

For stock A2: Google - starbase34.net or ask around on the msfc.com.au forums.

Notes before install:

(1) I do not accept any responcibility for any damage done to your computer by this mod.
(2) Make sure all files are NOT on read only, otherwise you will not be able to save your edits
(3) MAKE A BACKUP COPY of your FO or stock install of Armada 2. If you don't you WILL lose multiplayer compatibility, and have a chance of harming your only copy of the game and will have to start over with any and all current modifications.

Fleet Ops 3.1.5 Installation: FO installation is long and requires alot of editing, however the end result is spectacular, so bare with me. XD


Add the files from the FO mod folder to their respective folders in your FO modding install.

Find the all_cap_veteran.odf and open it. At the bottom of the list, add

Where ### and XXX are the SAME number that comes after the previous entry.

Next, find the all_veteran9.odf and add at the bottom(it doesn't really matter where)

where ## and XX are also both the next number in the sequence of replacements.


(Optional-for map editor)
Next, find the edit_federation_warpin.odf and add to the bottom of the sequence

item# = "fed_excalibur.odf"

Where again, # is the next number in the series.


Next, find the fed_warpin_special.odf and add

replacement0class1 = "fed_excaliburW"

to the bottom, where 1 is the next number after the last enttry. (there is only one in the stock list and it starts at 0)

And that is the end for odf's.



Misc:

find the events.dat file in the main directory and add at the bottom, the following line.

Find and open Star Trek Armada IIodfstationsfyard2.odf and locate the build list. The stock one looks like this:

And add to the bottom of it:

where 4 is the next number in the sequence.
