Description:

While creating a mod for Armada 1, I have created new Klingon ship. It's a K'Vort class cruiser, which was seen in several episodes of TNG and DS9.

For those who are interested only in the K'Vort class ships and do not want to install my entire mod, I created this standalone addon.

	Readme File: ************************************************** * * Build Buttons and Object Definition Files (ODFs): * - Activision * - Tiberios * * Kkvort.SOD * - Activision * * ************************************************** Introduction: When creating a small modification to the Armada 1 I have also created the Klingon K'Vort class ship. I've recycled the already existing design of B'rel class scoutships from the game. After all, the Klingons themselves were never very much concerned about design of their ships and they have also recycled the existing designs several times. :-) For those who are interested only in the K'Vort class ships and do not want to install my entire mod, I created this standalone addon. Setup Instructions: ================================================== 0. Running the game on Windows 7 ================================================== - Install Patch to 1.2 - Go to the directory where you have installed the game (e.g. C:/Program Files/Activistion/Star Trek - Armada) - Right click on Armada.exe - Select Properties - In the Properties window, select the Compatibility tab - Set it for Windows XP SP2 - Run in 256 colors - Set to run as administrator - Start the game ================================================== 1. Download file ================================================== Download file, virus check and extract files to a known location other than the Armada directory. ================================================== 2. Copy files ================================================== Copy and replace files: Note: !! Each file you are going to replace, you should first back up in case you want to return the game to its original state without having to reinstall the entire game. Copy the .SOD to your Armada SOD Directory Copy the .odf to your Armada Addon Directory Copy the .tt to your Armada Addon Directory Copy the .tga to your Armada Textures/RGB Directory ================================================== 3. Mod the appropriate addon files ================================================== If you have replaced all the files in the previous step, then nothing needs to be further modified. ================================================== 4. Mod the Gui_global.spr to add build buttons ================================================== Open the gui_global.spr file located in the Star Trek - ArmadaSprites folder. Add the following buttons under the # Klingon build buttons: @reference=64 # Build button for the K'vort b_kkvort gbkkvort00 0 0 64 64 And then add the wireframe references under the # Ship Wireframes header: @reference=128 # Wireframe for the K'Vort class cruiser kkvortw1 kwdestroy 40 0 40 40 kkvortw2 kwdestroy 0 40 40 40 kkvortw3 kwdestroy 40 40 40 40 kkvortw4 kwdestroy 80 0 40 40 kkvortw5 kwdestroy 0 0 40 40 ================================================== 5.
