New Metal Gear Teaser Site is Mysterious and Green; Hints at an Xbox Title?
Fri, 05 Dec 2008 12:41:17 +0000
Gaming TodayNothing bugs me more than when developers tease us with what their doing by giving us some cryptic message or visual that only just fuels the internet rumor mill. Right now, the net seems to be buzzing about this mysterious teaser site that Konami has put up. It really does nothing but flash the Konami logo and the strange message above over and over, but that’s already enough to get the speculators going. Most people believe this indicates that the Metal Gear franchise will be crossing over to the Xbox 360 in the near future, but we’ll really have to wait until Konami says something before we know for sure. Unfortunately, with the way they tend to keep a lid on the details of their Metal Gear games, I wouldn’t expect to hear any concrete news for awhile.

THQ Acquires 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand; Releases New Trailer
Fri, 05 Dec 2008 12:10:54 +0000
Blood on The Sand `Counter Kills` Trailer (HI)It looks like the new 50 Cent game — whose fate was up in the air following the end of Sierra — has found a new home with THQ. In fact, the game is now on track for a January release, and the publisher has released a new trailer to prove that 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand still exists. According to the video, the story somehow involves ol’ Fiddy traveling to the Middle East to recover a stolen jewel-encrusted skull. Why the notoriously wealthy rapper couldn’t just buy another instead of shooting his way through hundreds of people isn’t fully explained, but I guess it makes for a more interesting game. Of course, with how infamously terrible the last 50 Cent game was, it wouldn’t take much for this game to exceed fans’ expectations.
Lips Holiday Music Has a Dreidel (It Made It Out of Clay)
Fri, 05 Dec 2008 11:47:56 +0000
Microsoft is getting into the holiday spirit in the most traditional of ways: breaking out the Christmas/Hanukkah goodies and selling them off. Today, you’ll be able to download three new songs for Lips that will allow you to re-enact your dreams of being a Christmas crooner from the 50’s. First up is Andy Williams’ version of “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” a song you are guaranteed to hear in every other store you enter from now until December 25th. Next up is Elvis’ “Blue Christmas,” which you are legally obliged to sing only while wearing sparkling white spandex. Finally there’s “The Dreidel Song” as performed by Sister Hazel, which always makes me think of Arnold Schwarzeneggar for some reason.
Diablo III is Still Far From Finished
Thu, 04 Dec 2008 21:22:36 +0000
If you’re looking to get your hands on Diablo III sometime soon, well, don’t hold your breath. Many people thought the game might be nearing completion after Blizzard VP, Rob Pardo, mentioned at the developer’s World Wide Invitational that all the different classes and the first act were finished. Sadly, that isn’t exactly the case, mostly since their definition of “playable” doesn’t mean “done.” Bashiok, a Diablo CM with Blizzard, explains:
