Activision Blizzard sure knows how to get the speculation ball rolling, and with this latest bit of teasers and confirmations from the company during yesterday’s Massive Inc. event (advertising summit really) what they had to say is really not much of a surprise.

Winter Items for Avatars Now Available for Free on Xbox Live
Wed, 03 Dec 2008 23:32:11 +0000
It looks like the first batch of downloadable Avatar clothing has hit Xbox Live, and it’s adorably seasonal. Right now, you can pick up a bunch of ski and snowboard apparel so that they can keep warm this winter. Frankly though, it still seems just plain stupid to shell out real cash for some virtual clothing for your virtual avatar which has no real…what’s that? It’s free!? Oh…in that case, my little avatar needs him some gloves. And maybe a hat.
Mirror's Edge 2D Now in Beta for Flash
Wed, 03 Dec 2008 23:19:01 +0000
Gaming TodayLike Portal before it, Mirror’s Edge is now getting the 2D treatment with a new Flash game now in beta. I suppose it makes a lot of sense actually, since the source material’s main feature was slick controls and acrobatics. Unlike the Flash version of Portal though, this game is officially sanctioned by EA, who are working with Borne Games to develop it. After a quick play through, I’d say this game definitely captures the same feel of the console Mirror’s Edge with it’s simple controls and smooth visuals. Actually, I’d say the game even controls better than the 3D version, since you never have to stop and look around for the next ledge to jump to.
